Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms & Eligibility

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) constitute a legally binding agreement between you (“User”, “Customer”, or “Vendor”) and DOOCAL (“we”, “our”, or “us”), governing your access to and use of the DOOCAL mobile application, website, and related backend services.

By downloading, installing, registering an account, or accessing the Service, you signify your agreement to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. You represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years of age and competent to contract under the Indian Contract Act, 1872.

2. Description of the Service & Technology Intermediary Status

DOOCAL operates as a hyperlocal discovery and communication platform:

• For Customers: Customers can create product inquiries (“Requests”) specifying descriptions, categories, reference images, and optional budgets. Inquiries are broadcast to verified vendors registered in matching categories within a local radius (up to 10 km).
• For Vendors: Local store owners and authorized merchants receive notifications for customer inquiries, review specifications, and respond with price quotes detailing item availability, offered price, and photos.
• Intermediary Only: Under Section 79 of the Information Technology Act, 2000, DOOCAL acts exclusively as an intermediary technology platform. DOOCAL is not an e-commerce seller, retailer, or delivery provider, and is not a party to any contract of sale.

3. Account Registration & Mobile Verification

• To use DOOCAL, you must provide a valid Indian mobile phone number and verify ownership via an SMS One-Time Password (OTP).
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your device and authenticated account access.
• Vendors must represent genuine, operating physical storefronts or commercial enterprises. DOOCAL reserves the right to review, approve, reject, or request proof of identity or business registration for vendor accounts.

4. Customer Guidelines & Responsibilities

• Inquiries posted on DOOCAL must represent genuine purchase intent for lawful goods and services.
• Customers must not post fraudulent, malicious, repetitive, or deceptive product requests.
• When visiting store locations or speaking with merchants, customers agree to interact respectfully and courteously.

5. Vendor Guidelines & Responsibilities

• Vendors agree that quotes provided to customers accurately reflect product condition, availability, and pricing.
• Vendors must not list illegal, counterfeit, restricted, or hazardous merchandise.
• Vendors maintain full responsibility for their shop licenses, GST registrations (if applicable), and compliance with local retail laws.

6. Payments & Offline Fulfillment

DOOCAL does not collect funds, escrow payments, or charge transaction percentages. All payments (cash, UPI, debit/credit cards) occur directly between the customer and vendor at the time of purchase or store visit. DOOCAL is not liable for payment disputes, refunds, or product warranties, which remain strictly between buyer and merchant.

7. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of India. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in India.
